“Phenomenally accurate forecasts”
The latest news from our bird flu correspondent, Erich Simon, is grim. Across Asia, and in parts of Europe, most recently in Hungary, birds are literally dropping from the sky. This is a strain of virus that kills with such alarming speed that Erich has inferred it must have come from a laboratory. He attributes the drop in the U.S. stock market yesterday to growing unease about the possibility of a global bird flu panic. I’m not so sure myself. If yesterday’s 120-point plunge in the Dow Industrials turns out to be the beginning of a major selloff, I’d be more inclined to attribute it to growing unease about the housing market and its possible impact on an economy that is poised for a debt deflation. News that existing home sales in 2006 fell 8.4%, the fastest pace in 17 years, should have unsettled the rank imbeciles who actually believe the worst is past. Bird flu jitters – or fear of economic collapse? Take your pick Below is Erich’s report:

“People are dying in numbers too great for me to continue to monitor. Last night's sell-off in the Shanghai (per my prediction to you of some weeks ago and today on CNBC touted as "the short-selling opportunity of a lifetime") along with today's trip digit loss in the Dow is indication that we are indeed preparing for an increase in the pandemic alert. Good cop Anthony Fauci's remarks above are blaring acknowledgment that the situation has turned for the worst.
“Too Obvious”
“Today in ‘Bird Flu Plague’ torn Vietnam another flock of birds died in mid-flight and fell onto rooftops, in backyards and onto streets. Forty-nine of the recovered carcasses were presented to the authorities who made the on-the-spot assurance that it wasn't HP H5. And in Austin, Texas, our local authorities require ‘weeks’ to make such diagnosis. The whole thing is now too obvious to navigate.
“Meanwhile, in Indonesia, so many hospitals are now overwhelmed that government concern has shifted from protecting the images of the trade and tourism industries to a massive call to public safety. Nationwide culling including chicken coop burnings (a first) are spreading the region in official panic.
Silence in Europe
“Yesterday, HP H5 resurfaced in the EU, laying waste to thousands of geese in Hungary. It is known to be everywhere in Europe but officials there are doing their utmost to keep a lid on all bird die-offs. Word is expected to come any day of a massive resurgence.
“I realized today that the reason why the Los Alamos National Laboratory is not releasing the original sequences (Qinghai Lake, April 2005) is not just because this thing is man-made and now that it has been let loose on the world stage, it is going to run its course (fulfill its mission) regardless of prophylactic. But there is a third 'horror' to this global catastrophe. The definition of an HP is 100% mortality within 48 hours. It is now clear that the military has improved on that 48 hour kill time and that this new "super strain" (Qinghai and Fujian) has the capacity to kill in seconds.
“In The 1918 Flu there were pockets of the population (e.g. the Inuits), who died where they fell, whole villages and towns, men, women and children (dogs too). This is possibly a major underlying reason for all the H5 media black-out and disinformation in the United States. If birds are dying in mid-flight and there is documented carnage from The Spanish Flu of human death occurring in mere seconds, then the worst case mutational strain of the coming pandemic might very well be the annihilation of whole segments of the planet's populace.”
Fear in Japan
And a late-breaking note from Erich on incipient panic in Japan:
“A second farm in Japan's poultry region was hit today. It is removed (60 miles?) from the first farm, where according to Japanese officials all H5 had been eradicated. The numbers culled (52,500 today after a 1,200 dead bird 'cluster'... all of which perished in a matter of hours) and the radius of quarantine are only growing larger (by the day) in a repeat of the SK epidemic, which is so bad now that like China, it has been removed from the local press. Asian airports, particularly in Manila, are tonight dry running human pandemic exercises. The virus is literally everywhere in Asia, transcending the migratory, backyard bombardier wild bird spreader element and seeding itself through vehicles that are becoming as diverse as they are remaining unknown. Simply amazing.”

London Seminar
A Hidden Pivot seminar in London appears likely, judging from the strong initial response. If you’re interested in attending a two-day class there, probably sometime in the spring of 2007, please let me know via e-mail, including your contact information. The cost would be $1,500 USD.
