The Metals:
Gold fell $6.13 to $1645.37 in London before it jumped up to $1653.43 in early New York trade, but it then drifted back lower for most of the rest of the day and ended near its late session low of $1640.20 with a loss of 0.51%. Silver slipped to as low as $30.72 and ended with a loss of 1.09%.
Euro gold fell to about €1222, platinum gained $2 to $1717.50, and copper remained at about $3.72.
Gold and silver equities fell throughout most of trade and ended with about 1.5% losses.

The Markets:

Oil turned lower after the Energy Information Administration reported that crude inventories rose 600,000 barrels, gasoline inventories fell 800,000 barrels, and distillates fell 3.7 million barrels.
The U.S. dollar index traded mixed on uncertainty about this week’s G20 meeting.
Treasuries fell after today’s $24 billion 10 year note auction sold at a yield of 2.046% with a bid to cover of 2.68.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P waffled near unchanged on mixed earnings and economic reports.
Among the big names making news in the market today were GE, Getco, Morgan Stanley, Deere, and Yahoo.
