The Metals:
Gold edged up to $1582.40 at about 4AM EST before it plummeted down to $1561.50 after this morning’s jobs report was released, but it then climbed to a new session high of $1583.26 in the next hour and a half of trade and ended with a gain of 0.03%. Silver slipped to as low as $28.341 before it also rallied back higher and ended near its midmorning high of $29.251 with a gain of 0.31%.
Euro gold rose to about €1214, platinum gained $11.75 to $1601.50, and copper remained at about $3.51.
Gold and silver equities fell over 1% at the open, but they quickly recovered back to about unchanged and ended with slight gains.

Next week’s economic highlights include the Treasury Budget on Tuesday, Retail Sales, Import and Export Prices, and Business Inventories on Wednesday, Initial Jobless Claims, PPI, and the Current Account Balance on Thursday, and CPI, Empire Manufacturing, Net Long Term TIC Flows, Industrial Production, Capacity Utilization, and Michigan Sentiment on Friday.
