The Metals:
Gold rose nearly 1% in Asia, held above $1440 in London, and climbed to as high as $1468.95 in New York before it pared its gains a bit in the last hour and a half of trade, but it still ended with a gain of 2.37%. Silver surged to as high as $24.368 and ended with a gain of 4.83%.
Euro gold climbed to over €1126, platinum gained $39 to $1465.50, and copper climbed 8 cents to about $3.24.
Gold and silver equities rose over 3% by midafternoon before they fell back off into the close, but they still ended with about 1% gains.

Tomorrow at 8:30AM EST brings first quarter GDP expected at 2.8%. The Chain Deflator is expected at 1.6%. At 9:55 is Michigan Sentiment for April expected at 72.4.

Oil found decent gains on better than expected GDP data from the UK and on worries about Syria's possible chemical weapons.
The U.S. dollar index fell as the pound rallied higher after the UK’s GDP data.
Treasuries fell as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P rose on optimism about the world economy. Today’s $29 billion 7-year note auction sold at a yield of 1.155% with a bid to cover of 2.71.
Among the big names making news in the market today were 3M, Time Warner Cable, Verizon, and Exxon.
