The Metals:
Gold climbed $14.48 to $1267.18 by a little after 3AM EST, but it then fell back off for most of the rest of trade and ended near its late session low of $1239.29 with a loss of 0.84%. Silver slipped to as low as $19.238 and ended with a loss of 1.33%.
Euro gold fell back to €957, platinum lost $12 to $1361.00, and copper fell 3 cents to abo $3.13.
Gold and silver equities fell over 5% by midafternoon before they bounced back higher in the last hour of trade, but they still ended with over 4% losses.

Oil rose on supply concerns due to continued unrest in the Middle East.
The U.S. dollar index climbed higher on better than expected economic data that further supported recent talk of tapering by the fed.
Treasuries edged higher as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P erased early gains and ended lower ahead of this week’s jobs data.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Zynga, Disney, Bitcoin, Chrysler, and Tribune.
