The Metals:
Gold dipped down to $1326.56 at about 7AM EST, but it then rallied back higher for most of trade in New York and ended near its late session high of $1346.10 with a gain of 0.65%. Silver slipped to as low as $20.117 before it also rallied back higher, but it still ended at just unchanged on the day.
Euro gold climbed above €1015, platinum gained $5.75 to $1444.50, and copper rose a few cents to about $3.21.
Gold and silver equities fell about 1% in the first half hour of trade before they rose over 2% and then pared back in early afternoon trade, but they then rallied to new highs in the last couple of hours of trade and ended with about 3% gains.

Oil found modest gains ahead of tomorrow’s supply report.
The U.S. dollar index fell as the euro rose after a consumer confidence report in Europe did not come out as bad as expected.
Treasuries remained lower after today’s $35 billion 2-year note auction sold at a yield of 0.336% with a bid to cover of 3.08.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P waffled near unchanged on mixed earnings reports.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Wendy’s, Centene, Netflix, DuPont, United Technologies, Verizon, PacWest, Travelers, and Cisco.
