Oil fell along with the U.S. dollar index on worse than expected economic data that sent treasuries higher, but the dollar did bounce back higher at times on speculation that the data is not bad enough to entirely halt the fed’s plans to taper.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded mostly slightly higher on thoughts that the fed will taper by just a minimal amount, but they then fell back off in late trade and ended lower on worries about Syria.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Microsoft, Facebook, UBS, and Amgen.
