The Metals:
Gold fell $21 to $1373.90 at the open of trade on Sunday night before it rebounded to $1397.99 on Monday and then fell back to $1384.30 by a little after 4AM EST today, but it then climbed steadily higher throughout most of the rest of trade and ended near its late session high of $1416.16 with a gain of 1.26%. Silver slipped to as low as $23.074 on Monday, but it then surged to as high as $24.479 today and ended with a gain of 3.54%.
Euro gold rose to over €1071, platinum gained $34.80 to $1553.00, and copper climbed 7 cents to about $3.30.
Gold and silver equities rose over 2% in the first half hour of trade before they fell back near unchanged by midday, but they still ended with about 1% gains on the day.

Oil climbed higher on decent economic data and worries about Syria.
The U.S. dollar index saw slight gains and treasuries fell on better than expected economic data that sent the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P higher in early trade, but worries about Syria dragged stocks back near unchanged by midday and the major indices ended with only modest gains on the day.
