The Metals:
Gold fell $27.30 to as low as $1384.50 by early afternoon in New York before it bounced back higher in the last few hours of trade, but it still ended with a loss of 1.27%. Siler slipped to as low as $23.32 and ended with a loss of 3.01%.
Euro gold fell to about €1055, platinum lost $56 to $1497, and copper fell 6 cents to about $3.24.
Gold and silver equities fell almost 2% in the first 45 minutes of trade and remained near that level for most of the day, but they then shot back higher in the last hour of trade and ended with modest gains.

Oil fell on continued uncertainty about what the US will do about Syria.
The U.S. dollar index fell on worries about this week’s upcoming jobs data.
Treasuries fell as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P climbed higher on positive company reports.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Dollar General, Chrysler, Ciena, Gallagher, Vodafone, PepsiCo, and LinkedIn.
