The Metals:
Gold climbed $9.87 to $1323.97 in Asia before it fell back to $1313.30 at about 3PM EST, but it then bounced back higher in the last hour of trade and ended with a gain of 0.08%. Silver rose to as high as $22.306 and ended with a gain of 1.42%.
Euro gold edged above €961, platinum lost $1.30 to $1432.50, and copper climbed a penny to about $3.30.
Gold and silver equities rose about 2% by late morning and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

Tomorrow at 8:30AM EST brings September’s delayed jobs data. Nonfarm Payrolls are expected at 183,000, the Unemployment Rate is expected at 7.3%, Hourly Earnings are expected at 0.2%, and the Average Workweek is expected at 34.5.

Oil fell as the U.S. dollar index edged higher ahead of tomorrow’s jobs data.
Treasuries saw slight losses while the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P waffled near unchanged ahead of this week’s economic data.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Philips, Halliburton, AT&T, JPMorgan, Netflix, and McDonald’s.
