The Metals:
Gold edged down to $1310.00 in Asia before it popped up to $1321.73 at about 6AM EST and then fell back to as low as $1314.69 in New York, but it still ended with a gain of 0.49%. Silver shot to as high as $22.035 before it also fell back off, but it still ended with a gain of 0.46%.
Euro gold climbed to about €974, platinum gained $13 to $1459.50, and copper fell a couple of cents to about $3.24.
Gold and silver equities rose over 1% at the open and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

Tomorrow at 8:30AM EST brings Initial Jobless Claims for 11/02 expected at 335,000 and third quarter GDP expected at 1.9%. At 3PM is Consumer Credit for September expected at $11.0 billion.

Oil extended higher after the Energy Information Administration reported that crude inventories rose 1.6 million barrels, gasoline inventories fell 3.8 million barrels, and distillates fell 4.9 million barrels.
The U.S. dollar index fell as the euro rose on a Market News report saying a rate cut by the European Central Bank tomorrow was unlikely.
Treasuries saw slight gains ahead of tomorrow’s economic data.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded mixed on conflicting earnings reports.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Verisk, Tesla, Samsung, Wells Fargo, BlackRock, Fidelity, Time Warner, and Google.
