The Metals:
Gold fell $17.08 to $1256.32 at about 10AM EST before it bounced back higher midday, but it then fell to a new session low of $1241.11 following the release on minutes from the last fed meeting and the yellow metal ended today’s session with a loss of 2.25%. Silver slipped to as low as $19.793 and ended with a loss of 2.31%.
Euro gold fell to about €926, platinum lost $25 to $1391, and copper fell slightly to about $3.15.
Gold and silver equities fell about 4% by midafternoon before they bounced back higher in the last hour of trade, but they still ended with about 3% losses.

Oil ended slightly lower as the U.S. dollar index jumped higher and treasuries fell following the release of today’s fed minutes.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P fell on concerns that the fed may actually start tapering its bond purchases at one of their next few meetings.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Lowe’s, J.C. Penney, Devon, Deere, and Yahoo.
