Gold fell $7.66 to $1314.34 just after the release of today’s fed minutes before it bounced back higher in the next hour of trade, but it then fell back off again into the close and ended near its last minute low of $1309.00 with a loss of 0.89%.Silver slipped to as low as $21.382 and ended with a loss of 2.37%.
Euro gold fell to about €954, platinum lost $9.20 to $1409.80, and copper remained at about $3.26.
Gold and silver equities chopped lower throughout most of trade and ended with about 3% losses.
Oil rose on expectations for declining supplies in tomorrow’s inventory report.
The U.S. dollar index turned modestly higher after today’s release of fed minutes showed that FOMC officials discussed plans to possibly change their guidance for the path of interest rates.
Treasuries erased early gains on uncertainty about what the fed will do.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded mostly lower on poor economic data and worries about future fed actions.
