The Metals:
Gold edged down to $1323.80 in Asia before it rebounded to $1330.68 at about 9:30AM EST and then chopped back lower in early afternoon trade in New York, but it ended with a loss of just 0.13%. Silver slipped to as low as $21.011 and ended with a loss of 0.19%.
Euro gold remained at about €970, platinum gained $23 to $1505, and copper remained at about $3.19.
Gold and silver equities waffled near unchanged and ended slightly lower.

Oil rose on better than expected economic data out of China in early trade, but it then fell back off into the close and ended with a minor loss ahead of tomorrow’s inventory data.
The U.S. dollar index pared overnight gains and ended near unchanged on weak data from the US.
Treasuries fell as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P found roughly 1% gains on optimism about China’s expanding manufacturing.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Goldman Sachs, Twitter, Pinnacle, Chrysler, DirecTV, and BNP Paribas.
