The Metals:
Gold climbed $8.43 to $1317.53 at about 10:30AM EST before it fell back to $1308.33 at about 1:30PM, but it then bounced back higher in late trade and ended with a gain of 0.05%. Silver edged up to $20.145 in Asia before it fell back to $19.873 by early afternoon in New York and then bounced back higher, but it still ended with a loss of 0.4%.
Euro gold rose to about €980, platinum lost $3 to $1464, and copper fell slightly to about $3.17.
Gold and silver equities rose about 2% by midmorning before they fell back off a bit at times, but they still ended with almost 2% gains.

Oil fell ahead of tomorrow’s supply report.
The U.S. dollar saw modest gains as the euro fell after a poor reading from Germany's ZEW survey.
Treasuries remained slightly lower after today’s $27 billion three-year note auction sold at a yield of 0.924% with a bid to cover of 3.03.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded mostly lower on worries about Europe.
Among the big names making news in the market today were JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs, Standard Chartered, Philip Morris, and Pimco.
