Gold climbed $14.30 to $1290.50 by a little after 8AM EST before it pared some gains in New York trade, but it still ended with a gain of 0.49%. Silver surged to as high as $19.674 and ended with a gain of 0.15%.
Euro gold rose above €973, platinum gained $1 to $1414, and copper dropped 3 cents to about $3.19.
Gold and silver equities rose throughout most of trade and ended with about 2% gains.

There are no major economic reports due out tomorrow.

Oil traded mostly higher ahead of tomorrow’s supply data.
The U.S. dollar ultimately found modest gains on mostly better than expected economic data.
Treasuries turned slightly lower after today’s $29 billion 2-year note auction sold at a yield of 0.53% with a bid to cover of 3.48.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P saw minor gains in quiet trade.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Burger King and Tim Hortons, Best Buy, and Amazon.
