The Metals:
Gold climbed $18.13 to $1204.53 by a little after 5AM EST before it chopped back lower at times, but it still ended with a gain of 0.88%. Silver surged to as high as $16.417 and ended with a gain of 0.37%.
Euro gold rose to about €955, platinum gained $4 to $1202, and copper fell 4 cents to about $3.00.
Gold and silver equities rose throughout most of trade and ended with about 5% gains.

Oil fell on uncertainty about OPEC production ahead of next week’s policy meeting.
The U.S. dollar fell as the euro rose on a better than expected survey of German sentiment.
Treasuries rose on tame inflation data.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P found decent gains on optimism about earnings and deal making.
Among the big names making news in the market today were and Nokia, Sony, Ford, Home Depot, Actavis, Blackstone, AT&T, Carnival, and SunEdison, TerraForm, and First Wind.
