The Metals:
Gold climbed $10.22 to $1244.02 in Asia before it chopped back lower in London and New York, but it ended with a loss of just 0.28%. Silver rose to as high as $17.187 and ended with a gain of 2.66%.
Euro gold rose to about €1045, platinum lost $5 to $1234, and copper dropped 12 cents to about $2.61.
Gold and silver equities fell throughout most of trade and ended with as much as 5% losses.

Oil ended with a slight loss on comments from the UAE that OPEC will maintain current production levels.
The U.S. dollar saw slight gains as the euro remained weak amid speculation of more stimulus measures by the ECB.
Treasuries traded mixed as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P erased notable early gains and ended modestly lower on uncertainty about earnings.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Citigroup, MetLife, Boeing, and Ford.
