Gold dropped $17.49 to $1276.21 by a little after 10AM EST before it bounced back higher into the close, but it still ended with a loss of 1.03%. Silver slipped to as low as $17.878 and ended with a loss of 2.24%.
Euro gold fell to about €1137, platinum lost $16 to $1248, and copper climbed 4 cents to about $2.54.
Gold and silver equities fell almost 3% in the first fifteen minutes of trade, but they then rallied back higher for most of the rest of the day and ended with over 1% gains.
