The Metals:

 

Gold dipped $1.43 to $1197.97 in London before it rallied back to $1209.48 at about 10:40AM EST and then drifted back lower in the next few hours of trade, but it then bounced back higher in early afternoon trade and ended with a loss of just 0.12%.  Silver rose to as high as $16.362 and ended with a gain of 0.19%.

 

Euro gold rose to about €1086, platinum lost $2 to $1176, and copper fell slightly to about $2.65.

 

Gold and silver equities waffled near unchanged and ended with slight losses.

The Markets:

Oil fell 1.5% on a renewed focus on yesterday’s ample supply report.

 

The U.S. dollar rose as the euro dropped to an 11-1/2-year low after the ECB outlined the central bank's quantitative easing program.

 

Treasuries saw slight gains as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P held near unchanged ahead of tomorrow’s jobs report.

 

Among the big names making news in the market today were Adidas, Citigroup, Kroger, AbbVie, and Costco.
