Gold dropped $16.14 to $1182.56 by a little after 9AM EST before it bounced back higher at times, but it still ended with a loss of 1.1%. Silver slipped to as low as $16.64 and ended with a loss of 1.42%.
Euro gold fell to about €1096, platinum lost $17 to $1117, and copper climbed a couple of cents to about $2.78.
Gold and silver equities fell about 2.5% at the open and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

Oil traded mixed and ended slightly lower on uncertainty about talks over Iran’s nuclear program.
The U.S. dollar rose as the euro fell on renewed worries about Greece’s debt.
Treasuries edged lower as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P rose over 1% on deal making news.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Horizon and Hyperion, AIG, Teva and Auspex, Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, and UnitedHealth and Catamaran.
