The Metals:
Gold edged up to $1212.06 in Asia before it fell back to $1197.49 after the release of today’s fed minutes, but it then bounced back higher in late trade and ended with a loss of just 0.59%. Silver slipped to a low as $16.401 and ended with a loss of 2.13%.
Euro gold fell to about €1115, platinum lost $8 to $1163, and copper fell a couple of cents to about $2.73.
Gold and silver equities traded mostly lower and ended with about 1% losses.

Oil fell almost 7% after the Energy Information Administration reported that crude inventories rose 10.95 million barrels.
The U.S. dollar traded mostly lower as the yen rose after the Bank of Japan kept monetary policy unchanged.
Treasuries turned higher after today’s $21 billion 10-year note auction sold at a yield of 1.925%.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P edged higher on more deal making news.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Mylan and Perrigo, Shell and BG, and Family Dollar.
