The Metals:
Gold climbed $8.59 to $1207.59 at about 6:30AM EST before it fell back to $1200.90 in the next few hours of trade, but it then rallied back higher into the close and ended with a gain of 0.46%. Silver rose to as high as $16.525 in London, but it then fell back off for most of the rest of trade and ended with a loss of 0.18%.
Euro gold remained at about €1113, platinum gained $11 to $1168, and copper climbed a couple of cents to about $2.79.
Gold and silver equities saw over 1% gains for most of the morning before they fell to see slight losses at about 2PM EST, but they then bounced back higher in the last couple of hours of trade and ended mixed.

Oil fell almost 2% on the day, but gained nearly 8% for the week as traders continued to digest this week’s inventory data.
The U.S. dollar index pared early losses after this morning’s higher than expected Core CPI data, but it still ended with a loss on the day and the week on the renewed overall view that the fed will not be raising interest rates anytime soon.
Treasuries rose as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P fell almost 2% on worries about China, Greece, and poor earnings reports.
Among the big names making news in the market Friday were GoPro, 58.Com, Honeywell, AmEx, and GE.
