The Metals:
Gold fell $19.44 to $1205.86 by late morning in New York before it bounced back higher in afternoon trade, but it still ended with a loss of 1.4%. Silver slipped to as low as $16.943 and ended with a loss of 3.17%.
Euro gold rose to about €1084, platinum lost $25 to $1147, and copper dropped 7 cents to about $2.84.
Gold and silver equities fell throughout most of trade and ended with about 4% losses.

Oil fell nearly 4% as the U.S. dollar jumped over 1% higher for the second day in a row as the euro fell markedly again on indications for more action by the ECB.
Treasuries fell as the Dow and S&P flirted with new record highs again on mixed earnings reports.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Morgan Stanley, TomTom, Pimco, Home Depot, and Wal-Mart.
