Gold fell $8.62 to $1147.18 in Asia, but it then rallied back higher in London and New York and ended near its early afternoon high of $1164.59 with a gain of 0.26%. Silver slipped to as low as $14.774 before it climbed back to $15.264 and then ticked back lower at times, but it still ended with a gain of 0.26%.
Euro gold fell to about €1047, platinum lost $10 to $1029, and copper climbed slightly to about $2.48.
Gold and silver equities waffled near unchanged and ended slightly lower.

Oil fell after the Energy Information Administration reported that crude inventories rose 400,000 barrels, gasoline inventories rose 1.2 million barrels, and distillates rose 1.6 million barrels.
The U.S. dollar dropped as the euro bounced higher on hopes for a deal for Greece.
Treasuries rose as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P fell over 1% on continued concern about China.
