Gold gained $6.21 to $1098.31 in Asia before it drifted back towards unchanged in London, but it then shot up to as high as $1108.74 in New York and ended with a gain of 1.03%. Silver surged to as high as $15.391 and ended with a gain of 3.18%.
Euro gold rose above €1001, platinum gained $24 to $982, and copper climbed 6 cents to about $2.39.
Gold and silver equities rose roughly 6% by midday and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

Oil rose 2.5% as the U.S. dollar dropped “after Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Stanley Fischer said the central bank won’t raise interest rates until inflation has returned to normal.”
Treasuries fell as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P gained over 1% on deal-making news.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Nokia, Tesla, Alibaba, and Precision Castparts.
