The Metals:
Gold gained $8.61 to $1134.01 at about 9:30AM EST before it chopped back lower in the next hour and a half of trade, but it still ended with a gain of 0.42%. Silver rose to as high as $14.925 and ended with a loss of 0.14%.
Euro gold fell to about €1010, platinum lost $6 to $929, and copper fell slightly to about $2.30.
Gold and silver equities drifted lower for most of the day and ended with over 1% losses.

Oil fell over 4% after the Energy Information Administration reported that crude inventories fell 1.9 barrels, gasoline inventories rose 1.4 million barrels, and distillates fell 2.1 million barrels.
The U.S. dollar index saw slight losses as the euro edged higher after ECB President Mario Draghi was not as dovish as many were expecting in his comments today to the European Parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs.
Treasuries saw slight losses as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded mixed in relatively quiet trade.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Volkswagen, RBS, and Boeing.
