Gold fell $10.21 to $1152.19 in London, but it then climbed higher throughout most of trade in New York and ended with a gain of 0.49%. Silver rose to as high as $15.991 and ended with a gain of 0.32%.
Euro gold rose to about €1026, platinum lost $7 to $986, and coper fell a few cents to about $2.39.
Gold and silver equities rose about 2% by early afternoon in New York before they fell back off in the last couple of hours of trade, but they still ended near unchanged on the day.

Oil fell almost 1% after the “IEA said the world oil market would remain oversupplied for at least another year despite falls in output from non-OPEC producers.”
The U.S. dollar index traded mostly slightly lower and treasuries climbed higher again on waning expectations for an interest rate hike from the fed anytime soon.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded mostly lower on falling Chinese exports and mixed earnings reports.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Wells Fargo, Volkswagen, J&J, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, UBS, AB InBev, and Twitter.
