Gold dipped $7.44 to $1175.46 in Asia before it chopped back higher in London and New York, but it then fell back off into the close and ended with a loss of 0.65%. Silver slipped to as low as $15.946 and ended with a loss of 0.74%.
Euro gold fell to about €1035, platinum gained $12 to $1015, and copper fell a couple of cents to about $2.41.
Gold and silver equities waffled near unchanged for most of the morning, but they then fell back off midday and ended with about 3% losses.

Next week’s economic highlights include the NAHB Housing Market Index on Monday, Building Permits and Housing Starts on Tuesday, and Initial Jobless Claims, the FHFA Housing Price Index, Existing Home Sales, and Leading Economic Indicators on Thursday.

Oil rose over 2% on a falling rig count while the U.S. dollar index edged higher as the euro fell on dovish ECB commentary.
Treasuries held near unchanged as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded little changed on mixed company reports.
