The Metals:
Gold fell $8.43 to $1133.07 in late morning New York trade before it bounced back higher into early afternoon, but it still ended with a loss of 0.63%. Silver slipped to as low as $15.27 and ended with a loss of 0.58%.
Euro gold fell to about €1030, platinum lost $8 to $974, and copper climbed slightly to about $2.33.
Gold and silver equities waffled near unchanged and ended with modest gains.

Oil fell on falling demand from China and rising output from Russia.
The U.S. dollar index dropped as the euro rose after ECB President Mario Draghi suggested further monetary stimulus may not be required.
Treasuries fell as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P rose about 1% on decent economic data.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Loews, Shire, Electrolux, Chipotle, Goldman Sachs, and Visa.
