Gold fell $17.96 to $1085.54 at about 9:30AM EST before it bounced back higher at times, but it still ended with a loss of 1.4%.Silver slipped to as low as $14.722 and ended with a loss of 1.73%.
Euro gold fell to about €1013, platinum lost $8 to $938, and copper fell slightly to about $2.25.
Gold and silver equities fell as much as 5% before they edged back higher into midday, but they still ended with about 4% losses.
Next week’s economic highlights include Import and Export Prices and Wholesale Inventories on Tuesday, Initial Jobless Claims and the Treasury Budget on Thursday, and PPI, Retail Sales, Michigan Sentiment, and Business Inventories on Friday.
