The Metals:
Gold edged up to $1094.64 in London before it dropped back to $1086.21 at about 9:30AM EST and then bounced back higher into midday, but it still ended with a loss of 0.25%. Silver slipped to as low as $14.318 and ended with a loss of 0.96%.
Euro gold rose above €1015, platinum lost $12 to $898, and copper fell a couple of cents to about $2.22.
Gold and silver equities fell about 2% at the open and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

Oil rose “after the International Energy Agency(IEA) noted unprecedented declines in investment.”
The U.S. dollar index saw decent gains as the euro fell on more talk of a possible interest rate hike by the fed.
Treasuries rose as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded mixed on interest rate uncertainty.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Dell, JPMorgan, and Gap.
