The Metals:
Gold fell $10.38 to $1074.32 by a little after 9AM EST before it jumped back up to $1089.53 in the next hour of trade and then fell back off again into midday, but it then climbed back higher again into the close and ended with a loss of just 0.01%. Silver surged to as high as $14.499 before it dropped back $14.212, but it still ended with a gain of 0.07%.
Euro gold fell to about €1003, platinum lost $5 to $874, and copper fell 5 cents to about $2.17.
Gold and silver equities traded mostly lower and ended with about 1% losses.

Oil fell on more rising inventories while the U.S. dollar index dropped and treasuries rose after Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen was reluctant to discuss the central bank’s interest-rate outlook in her remarks at a conference today.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P fell over 1% on interest rate uncertainty.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Noble Group, Glencore, Siemen’s, and Kohl’s.
