Gold dropped $16.54 to $1054.06 by about 9AM EST before it bounced back higher, but it still ended with a loss of 1.03%. Silver slipped to as low as $13.984 and ended with a loss of 0.63%.
Euro gold fell to about €997, platinum lost $15 to $833, and copper fell a few cents to about $2.06.
Gold and silver equities dropped about 2% by midmorning and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

Next week’s economic highlights include Chicago PMI and Pending Home Sales on Monday, Construction Spending and the ISM Index on Tuesday, ADP Employment, Productivity, and the fed’s Beige Book on Wednesday, Initial Jobless Claims, Factory Orders, and ISM Services on Thursday, and November’s jobs data and the Trade Balance on Friday.

Oil fell as the U.S. dollar index rose and treasuries held near unchanged while the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded mostly higher in holiday thinned trade.
