Gold dipped down to $1068.36 by a little after 8AM EST before it bounced back to $1078.39 in the next hour and a half of trade and then chopped back lower at times, but it still ended with a gain of 0.16%. Silver slipped to as low as $14.09 and ended with a loss of 0.84%.
Euro gold fell to about €986, platinum lost $8 to $841, and copper remained at about $2.05.
Gold and silver equities fell about 2% in the first hour of trade before they edged back higher at times, but they still ended with over 1% losses.

Oil ended slightly lower in mixed trade.
The U.S. dollar index fell as the yen rose on a better than expected reading of Japanese GDP.
Treasuries traded mostly lower in choppy trade.
The Dow and S&P fell on worries about global growth after Chinese trade date came in weaker than expected.
