Gold fell to as low as $1063.41 by early afternoon in New York before it bounced back higher, but it still ended with a loss of 1.31%. Silver slipped to as low as $13.665 and ended with a loss of 1.72%.
Euro gold fell to about €969, platinum gained $4 to $845, and copper fell slightly to about $2.11.
Gold and silver equities fell about 5% by midday and remained near that level for the rest of the day.
Tomorrow brings CPI, Empire Manufacturing, the NAHB Housing Market Index, and Net Long-Term TIC Flows.

Oil bounced back from last week’s significant losses.
The U.S. dollar index ended slightly higher in mixed trade.
Treasuries fell ahead of this week’s fed meeting.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P saw notable losses by late morning, but they then chopped back higher in afternoon trade and ended with decent gains on optimism over the recovery in oil.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Encana, Lucidus, Twitter, Alibaba, and Newell Rubbermaid and Jarden.
