Gold saw decent gains in Asia before it fell back towards unchanged in London, but it then rose to as high as $1081.57 in New York and ended with a gain of 1.15%. Silver rose to as high as $14.326 and ended with a gain of 1.13%.
Euro gold rose to about €987, platinum gained $12.50 to $870, and copper climbed a few cents to about $2.14.
Gold and silver equities climbed about 2% higher at the open and remained near that level for the rest of the day.
Tomorrow brings GDP, the FHFA Housing Price Index, and Existing Home Sales.

Oil fell on the continued outlook for ample supplies.
The U.S. dollar index dropped as the euro rose “after Spain’s ruling party lost its parliamentary majority in the country’s general election.”
Treasuries held near unchanged while the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P bounced back from last week’s losses in quiet holiday thinned trade.
