The Metals:
Gold edged up to $1063.45 in Asia before it dropped back to $1058.62 in London, but it then bounced back higher in New York and ended with a loss of just 0.02%. Silver slipped to as low as $13.798 and ended with a loss of 0.29%.
Euro gold rose to about €976, platinum gained $19 to $887, and copper fell slightly to about $2.14.
Gold and silver equities waffled near unchanged and ended slightly higher.

Oil bounced back from yesterday’s losses, but it still ended over 30% lower on the year.
The U.S. dollar index added onto this year’s 9% gains.
Treasuries rose as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P dropped about 1% on weakness in tech.
Among the big names making news in the market Friday were Apple, American Airlines, and Facebook.
