The Metals:
Gold fell $11.22 to $1083.78 by a little before 10AM EST before it bounced back higher at times, but it still ended with a loss of 0.49%. Silver slipped to as low as $13.75 and ended with a loss of 0.51%.
Euro gold fell to about €1004, platinum lost $10 to $835, and copper fell slightly to about $1.97.
Gold and silver equities fell about 4% by midmorning before they edged back higher in late trade, but they still ended with roughly 3% losses.

Oil fell towards $30 a barrel on continued signs of persistent oversupply in the face of waning demand.
The U.S. dollar index edged higher after China’s central bank ramped up efforts to stabilize its currency.
Treasuries rose on worries about the oil market.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P ended with decent gains in mixed trade as optimism over China overcame concerns about the oil market.
Among the big names making news in the market today were GameStop, BP, and Porsche.
