The Metals:
Gold edged up to $1093.89 in Asia before it dropped back to $1082.99 in London and then bounced back higher in New York, but it still ended with a loss of 0.17%. Silver rose to as high as $14.182 and ended with a gain of 0.94%.
Euro gold fell to about €997, platinum gained $4.50 to $826.50, and copper climbed a few cents to about $1.98.
Gold and silver equities fell roughly 5% by early afternoon and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

Oil fell over 3% on confirmation that sanctions on Iran were lifted.
The U.S. dollar index ended slightly higher in mixed trade and treasuries held near unchanged as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P erased early gains and closed mixed on renewed concerns about oil.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Morgan Stanley, Bombardier, Macy’s, and BofA.
