The Metals:
Gold dropped $12.74 to $1217.46 in early New York trade before it bounced back higher at times, but it still ended with a loss of 0.56%. Silver slipped to as low as $14.921 and ended with a loss of 0.4%.
Euro gold fell to about €1073, platinum lost $7.50 to $940.50, and copper climbed slightly to about $2.16.
Gold and silver equities traded mostly slightly lower and ended with modest losses.

Oil rose over 5% after the Energy Information Administration reported that crude inventories fell 4.9 million barrels, gasoline inventories rose 1.4 million barrels, and distillates fell 3.0 million barrels.
The U.S. dollar index fell as the yen continued to rise on doubts that the Bank of Japan will take intervene to halt recent gains.
Treasuries fell as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P rose on relief over oil’s rebound.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Pfizer, Allergan, Honda, and Harley-Davidson.
