The Metals:
Gold gained $6.92 to $1286.12 at about 9AM EST before it fell back to $1269.46 in early afternoon New York trade, but it then bounced back higher into the close and ended with a loss of just 0.15%. Silver rose to as high as $17.633 before it fell back to $17.242, but it also edged back higher in late trade and ended unchanged on the day.
Euro gold rose to about €1120, platinum gained $5 to $1060, and coper fell 4 cents to about $2.15.
Gold and silver equities climbed over 2% higher at the open and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

Oil gained 1.2% after a wildfire in Alberta forced oil companies to evacuate workers and shut in output.
The U.S. dollar index rose on short covering ahead of tomorrow’s jobs data.
Treasuries ended with decent gains as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded mixed on economic uncertainty.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Tesla, Verizon, and Alibaba.
