The Metals:
Gold saw slight gains in Asia, but it then fell back off for most of trade in London and New York and ended near its early afternoon low of $1331.05 with a loss of 1.65%. Silver slipped to as low as $19.977 and ended with a loss of 0.99%.
Euro gold fell to about €1204, platinum lost $10 to $1087, and copper climbed another 6 cents to about $2.22.
Gold and silver equities drifted lower for most of the day and ended with about 3% losses.

Oil jumped over 4% higher after “a report from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries revealed forecasts for higher oil demand and lower production next year.”
The U.S. dollar index fell as the pound rose on the smooth transition of Home Secretary Theresa May’s take over as the U.K.’s next prime minister.
Treasuries saw notable losses again as the Dow and S&P rose to new record highs on steady earnings and economic reports.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Alcoa, Tesla, Amazon, and Starbucks.
