The Metals:
Gold dipped $3 to $1310.80 in early Asian trade before it bounced back to $1323.24 in London and then fell back to almost unchanged at about 9:30AM EST, but it then rallied back higher for most of the rest of trade and ended near its last minute high of $1333.82 with a gain of 1.47%. Silver rose to as high as $19.872 and ended with a gain of 2.43%.
Euro gold rose above €1209, platinum gained $18 to $1100, and copper climbed slightly to about $2.26.
Gold and silver equities rose roughly 3% by midday and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

Oil fell over 2% on the outlook for ample supplies and uncertain demand.
The U.S. dollar index dropped as the yen jumped higher “after Bank of Japan chief Haruhiko Kuroda said the bank saw no need to stimulate the economy with ‘helicopter money.’”
Treasuries saw slight gains as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P fell on mixed earnings reports.
Among the big names making news in the market today were EBay, Travelers, Biogen, Qualcomm, GM, and Tesla.
