Gold saw slight losses in Asia and London, but it then climbed to as high as $1324.87 in afternoon New York trade and ended with a gain of 0.16%. Silver rose to as high as $18.864 and ended with a gain of 1.07%.
Euro gold rose to about €1183, platinum gained $12 to $1074, and copper remained at about $2.09.
Gold and silver equities fell over 1% at the open, but they then climbed to see about 1% gains by midday and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

Oil fell over 1% on signs of steady to rising output from the Middle East.
The U.S. dollar index erased most of its overnight gains and treasuries rose on doubts that last week’s hawkish fed commentary will actually result in an interest rate increase.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P bounced back from last week’s losses.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Caesars, Herbalife, Aleris, BlackRock, Bitcoin, and Mylan.
