The Metals:
Gold chopped around a $7 range on either side of unchanged in Asia before it dropped down to $1309.46 by a little after 10AM EST and then bounced back to almost unchanged at $1321.18 in the next hour of trade, but it then drifted back lower in afternoon trade and ended with a loss of 0.65%. Silver climbed up to $19.129 before it dropped back to $18.823, but it then rallied back higher in late morning trade and ended with a gain of 0.11%.
Euro gold fell to about €1169, platinum lost $3 to $1030, and copper climbed a penny to about $2.16.
Gold and silver equities fell over 2% in the first half hour of trade before they rose to see over 1% gains by midday and then fell back off at times, but they still ended modestly higher on the day.

Oil rose almost 1% as gasoline shot higher on news of refinery repairs.
The U.S. dollar index and treasuries waffled near unchanged on mixed economic data.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P followed Apple and oil higher on thoughts that the fed will not raise rates next week after today’s data.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Wells Fargo, Toyota, Apple, and Ford.
