The Metals:
Gold dropped $12.09 to $1325.21 by late morning in New York before it bounced back higher in afternoon trade, but it still ended with a loss of 0.76%. Silver slipped to as low as $18.982 and ended with a loss of 1.34%.
Euro gold dropped to about €1183, platinum lost $10 to $1024, and copper fell a few cents to about $2.17.
Gold and silver equities fell over 2% by late morning before they chopped back higher at times, but they still ended with over 1% losses on the day.

Oil fell almost 3% after Iran cast doubt that a deal will be reached to freeze output levels.
The U.S. dollar index rose with the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P on better than expected economic data and a relatively calm front in politics.
Treasuries remained higher after today’s $34 billion 5-year note auction sold at a yield of 1.129% with a bid to cover of 2.39.
Among the big names making news in the market today were American Express, Disney, Wells Fargo, and Deutsche Bank.
