The Metals:
Gold saw notable gains in Asia before it fell to see a $10.75 loss at $1285.65 at about 8AM EST, but it then rallied back higher for most of the rest of trade and ended with a gain of 0.5%. Silver slipped to as low as $18.023 before it also bounced back higher, but it still ended with a loss of 0.86%.
Euro gold rose to about €1173, platinum gained $2.50 to $992, and copper climbed a couple of cents to about $2.25.
Gold and silver equities rose about 2% in the first half hour of trade and remained near that level into the close.

Oil fell another 1.5% in continued reaction to yesterday’s large supply build.
The U.S. dollar index dropped again as the pound jumped higher “after a U.K. high court ruled the government can’t trigger the Brexit process without approval from parliament.”
Treasuries fell “after the Bank of England scrapped plans to cut interest rates and indicated that inflation is likely to rise further.”
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P remained weak on political uncertainty and mixed earnings reports.
Among the big names making news in the market today were AIG, Hermes, Fannie Mae, Facebook, Fitbit, Wells Fargo, and Credit Suisse.
