The Metals:
Gold fell $25.86 to $1278.34 in early afternoon New York trade before it bounced back higher in the last four hours of trade, but it still ended with a loss of 1.74%. Silver slipped to as low as $18.012 and ended with a loss of 0.92%.
Euro gold fell to about €1160, platinum gained $4 to $998, and copper climbed 5 cents to about $2.32.
Gold and silver equities fell over 5% by late morning before they rallied back higher in afternoon trade, but they still ended roughly 3% lower on the day.

Oil rose almost 2%, the U.S. dollar index jumped higher, and treasuries fell as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P gained over 2% “on speculation Hillary Clinton’s chances of a U.S. election victory increased after the FBI said her handling of e-mails wasn’t a crime.”
Among the big names making news in the market today were Ryanair, HSBC, Windstream and EarthLink, Rosneft, and GoPro.
