Gold fell $11.80 to $1161.20 in midmorning New York trade before it rose to see slight gains by midafternoon, but it then drifted back lower into the close and ended with a loss of 0.2%. Silver slipped to as low as $16.25 and ended unchanged on the day.
Euro gold fell to about €1098, platinum gained $5 to $912, and copper remained at about $2.62.
Gold and silver equities saw over 2% losses throughout the morning, but they then chopped back higher in early afternoon trade and ended only slightly lower on the day.

Oil rose over 3% more in continued reaction to OPEC’s agreement to cut production.
The U.S. dollar index fell along with treasuries ahead of tomorrow’s jobs data.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded mostly lower on concerns over Trump’s trade policy.
